Rio Fashion Week 2010

This week Rio De Janiero is running mad as the host of Brazilian fashion week, under the title 'Olympic and Marvelous'. Designers are set to showcase their collections across three remodelled warehouse locations, the perfect eerie backdrops to an array of unique creations.

In true Brazilian style, the fashions so far on display have included vibrant, flirtatious designs amidst mysterious, gothic inspired creations. Label Mara Mac'a 2010 Autumn/Winter collection worked the trench coat with vibrant splashes of citrus, whilst colour was abundant in the rainbow hairstyles seen on the Coven runway. Our personal favourite so far has been the runway of Auslander, with designer Ricardo Brautigam explaining his collection as 'gothic rock surrealist glamour'. Models wore sheer polka dot gloves adorned with fierce spikes, giving off a contrast between feminine and soft and that of hard edge gothic glam. Models faces were painted white and worked with the overall black palette of the collection.
